Our Global Business Center (GBC) in Buenos Aires was established in 2004 and our diverse and multinational workforce of more than 2800 colleagues have been powering ExxonMobil’s global businesses ever since. We are proud to be part of an inclusive, safe, and vibrant work environment.
The IT department is seeking new candidates to its dynamic team. The department provides support worldwide to the Organizations all along the value chain from exploration thru site development to production.

What role you will play in our team

As a Compute Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining compute systems that support our business operations. You will work with global teams, and modern and cutting-edge technologies.
Our office is located in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires and you will interact with engineers and users from all around the world.

What you will do

Deploy and support on-premise and cloud-based hosting and computing environments.
Participate in the evaluation of existing systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities to keep them running in optimal conditions.
Participate in the evaluation of new products available on the market and design solutions for next generation systems.
Provide support to IT systems over globally distributed sites, including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution.
Develop automation using modern management tools.
Assist in fortifying systems’ security.

About you

Bachelor Degree or close to graduating in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computing Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Analysis or similar
Advanced verbal and written communication English skills
2+ years’ experience in System administration experience, in one or more of the following platforms: Windows, Linux, Storage (NetApp, Dell EMC) and/or Backup solutions (Commvault preferred, TSM, Netbackup, Veeam), Virtualization (VMware preferred).
Continuous learning mindset, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Knowledge on security management (e.g. CVE remediation, vulnerability assessment), patch management tools (e.g. SCCM, RH Satellite) and application delivery.
Proficiency with servers provisioning and packaging.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

Working experience in an Agile organization.
Scripting skills oriented to automation and orchestration (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Bash, Korn Shell, Puppet).
Source Code Management and Version Control (e.g. Git).
Proficiency with Monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Datadog, Wazuh, SCOM).
Prior experience with any cloud vendor (e.g. Azure, AWS or GCP).
Experience with containerization in OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker.
Active Directory/LDAP knowledge.
Data management user level skills (e.g. SQL).
Web Server management skills (e.g. IIS, Apache, FLASK, Tomcat).
