As a Business Development Representative (BDR) you will target, pursue and close new business. You will be the face of the company, focused on identifying, qualifying and successfully bringing in new customers. You drive success through daily sales activity, attention to details, endlessly learning to grow and improve, and great customer service. We target medium-to-enterprise accounts with complex translation and interpreting needs in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, legal, manufacturing and life sciences. Communication, interpersonal, sales, organization, and time management skills are critical for success.
Responsibilities:
Your primary objective is to find, qualify and successfully close new customers. Upon closing a new customer, you will transition the account to their dedicated account team (Account Manager and Project Manager).
You will need to gain a deep and solid understanding of the prospect’s organizational structures, business entities, procurement processes, management objectives, needs, current translation processes, expectations, and decision criteria.
As Business Development Representative you will:
- Identify and qualify opportunities with prospective clients, including key decision makers at all levels in the enterprise, using prospecting strategies such as internet research, social media outreach, trade show lists, cold outreach, referrals, professional networking, and personal prospecting.
- Plan and conduct new business activities with target accounts and lead all prospect interactions, including on-site visits, online meetings, sales and proposal presentations, and email and phone interactions.
- Develop the opportunities from discovery to close; including preparing and presenting quotes, proposals, service agreements, pricing, responses to RFP, and technology demos.
- Manage and control pricing, negotiation and contractual issues.
- Formulate sales plans and build a strong pipeline to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Understand our business offerings, capabilities, benefits and value, and competitive advantages.
- Represent the company at prospect sites, industry events and trade shows.
- Be the voice of the customer internally. Collaborate with Production, Operations, Marketing, Account Management, Accounting and other teams.
- Contribute feedback and ideas for improving new business development processes and strategy, as well as any other technology, process or service you have ideas for improving.
- Report to management via regular reporting and meetings to review sales activities, strategy, plans and goal attainment reports.
- Ensure a successful transition of a closed opportunity resulting from sales activities to the account team, and act as a liaison and advocate during the client onboarding process.
- Keep lead, opportunity, contact, account data and meeting notes data updated in the CRM and client folders.
