As a Senior Software Developer, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering this innovation to our users, ensuring the application is not just functional but also delightful and snappy to use.

What You’ll Do

• Build new features for the REST API and data processing engine using Typescript and Python/Spark, and deployed on AWS.
  
  
• Work alongside senior developers, architects, and QA team to implement new features and enhancements.
  
  
• Mentor junior team developers and perform code reviews to ensure a high‑quality codebase.
  
  
• Contribute to improving the performance and scalability of our platform.
  
  
• Automate deployments and CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code technologies like Terraform and Serverless Framework.
  
  

What You Bring

Technical Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in software development roles, with a focus on backend development.
  
  
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (preferably Python and/or Typescript).
  
  
• Familiarity with AWS services (e.g. EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, Step Functions, DDB, etc.).
  
  
• Experience with large data processing and application scalability using tools like Apache Spark and Kubernetes.
  
  
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
  
  
• English communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
  
  B2 level English or higher is required.
  
  
• Experience with provisioning AWS infrastructure and establishing remote work routines.
  
  
• Comfort with our tech stack, development workflow, and CI/CD systems.
  
  
• Experience fixing minor bugs and assisting in resolving client issues to familiarize yourself with the codebase.
  
  
• Ability to take ownership of small features or modules and finish implementation.
  
  
• Support senior developers and contribute to the development of more complex features and enhancements.
  
  
• Collaborate with QA to plan the deployment of features you worked on.
  
  
• Present your work in demo sessions to QA and product management.
  
  
• Assist in resolving client production issues or feature requests.
  
  
• Take full ownership of a feature or module and ensure its deployment to production.
  
  
• Demonstrate a firm grasp of critical application components and troubleshoot defects independently.
  
  
• Actively contribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and implementation strategies.
  
  
• Reflect on onboarding experiences and provide actionable feedback to improve processes.
  
  
• Candidates selected for this position will be hired directly by Varicent.
  
  
• This role requires employees to work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.
  
  Flexibility to adjust working hours to align with this time zone is essential.
