Urgent! React and React Native Developer Job | Nimbus

React and React Native Developer

Job description

Company Description

Nimbus is revolutionizing mobile connectivity for travelers with its instant eSIM technology.

Our platform provides seamless activation, allowing users to go online in over 180 destinations without physical SIM cards, contracts, or hidden fees.

With local, regional, and global data plans backed by top carriers, we ensure fast, reliable, and secure mobile experiences.

Designed for tourists, digital nomads, and business travelers, Nimbus combines ease of use with transparency to help people stay connected worldwide.

Our mission is to simplify mobile data access while fostering a community where travelers can share insights for smarter journeys.

We're looking for a React and React Native developer to join our small, boutique team building a mobile app centered around e-sims and internet data connectivity called Nimbus eSIM.

The entire product is being developed in-house, and our company has been operating since the start of the year.

We're a startup made up of people who truly know what they're doing, without unnecessary layers of middle management.

We won't try to convince you that you'll have a real impact on the product - around here, that's just the default.

If something doesn't work, we sit down together, talk it through, and improve it.

We take feedback seriously - both from the team and from users.

We believe that's the only way to build something meaningful and lasting.

A few things worth mentioning

  • The project has been financed entirely by the two co-founders
  • As founders, we're directly involved in the project, you'll work with us personally.

We believe that strong team relationships matter

What We're Building

  • A premium mobile app for iOS and Android that makes travel connectivity effortless: pick a destination, get a bespoke eSIM plan, install in seconds, and go.

  • The core flows (plan selector - checkout - eSIM install - diagnostics) are live and under active iteration; we're polishing onboarding, error states, and partner vouchers before broader scale-up.

  • This isn't a throwaway growth hack - Nimbus is a long-term product with a clear roadmap and quality bar.

  • We have 6+ post-MVP features queued (auto top-ups, family sharing, referrals, travel bundles, better offline/install guidance, partner integrations).

  • Clear, transparent UX is our edge: no ads, no dark patterns, no roaming confusion - just reliable data and human support.

  • We collaborate on Slack, design in Figma, track work in ClickUp, and ship with Expo EAS.

A Few Things Worth Highlighting

  • Bootstrapped and revenue-first.

Nimbus is funded by the founders and real customers - not by burning investor money.

  • You'll work directly with the founders and the small core team; decisions are fast, feedback is honest, and ownership is real.

  • Monetization is simple and non-intrusive.

The goal: reach sustainable profitability, not vanity metrics.

Who We're Looking For

An experienced front-end/mobile engineer to own major pieces of our Expo (React Native) app.

If you care about craft, like solving real user problems, and want your work to ship - we'd love to talk.

What We Expect

  • 4+ years building React Native apps (Expo welcome), shipped to App Store / Google Play.

    and min.

2+ years of experience with Web Apps in React.

  • Strong grasp of iOS/Android specifics (permissions, deep links, background tasks, store policies).

  • Product mindset: you sweat UX details, empty/error states, and performance.

  • Autonomy, proactivity, and clear communication in a small, self-organizing team.

  • Nice-to-have: analytics/experimentation (Appsflyer/GA4), payments (IAP or Stripe), i18n, and basic mobile security practices.

  • Good level of English, be able to express yourself, do daily meetings and write documentation.

Our team is international with people from Poland, Netherlands, Spain and Argentina.

Your Responsibilities

  • Implement and evolve core app flows: plan selector, purchase/activation, eSIM install guidance, diagnostics, top-ups.

  • Collaborate with backend and design to ship smooth, accessible, localized experiences.

  • Own mobile releases: EAS builds, store submissions, versioning, crash/latency monitoring, and rapid fixes.

  • Optimize performance and reliability across iOS and Android, including offline and edge-case handling.

  • Contribute to QA, instrumentation, and pre-release hardening.

Tech Stack

Must-have

  • React and React Native + Expo (managed workflow)
  • TypeScript / modern ES6+ JavaScript
  • REST API integration (auth, catalog, checkout)
  • Git (feature branches, clean PRs)
  • Responsive UI for iOS and Android (device/OS nuances)
  • State management (Context API, Redux, or similar)
  • Navigation with React Navigation (deep links, params)
  • Async Storage for local persistence
  • Push notifications with FCM (via Expo)

Nice-to-have

  • React Query / SWR for caching & sync
  • Expo Dev Tools for profiling/debugging
  • CodePush/Expo Updates for safe hot releases

Additional tools we use

  • Sentry for crash/error & performance monitoring
  • Stripe for payments/subscriptions (mobile checkout)
  • Google Ads / AdMob SDK for acquisition & attribution (no in-app ads)
  • Google Analytics (GA4) for product analytics
  • Expo Application Services (EAS) for builds & deployment
  • App Store Connect & Google Play Console for publishing
  • Postman / Insomnia for API testing

What We offer

  • A base salary that may not be the highest on the market, but a no-limit bonus system based on the product's success - when the project takes off, everyone benefits
  • Up to USD net/month (B2B contract) fulltime + revenue share of global profits.

  • A product with real value and the potential to connect the global travel community
  • Influence over system architecture, tech choices, and how we work
  • A friendly, non-corporate atmosphere in a small team
  • Flexible collaboration - fully remote.

  • A chance to build something that your friends or family might actually have installed on their phones - and something you'll be proud of
  • Long-term work - not just for this app, but future projects we're planning as well
  • We value critical and creative thinking - got an idea for a new feature or UX improvement?

You'll be heard as an equal
  • We're aiming for global reach, so we don't exclude working from other countries or time zones - as long as communication doesn't suffer

Recruitment Process

We aim to keep the whole process under 2 weeks.

Every application is read by a team member, we don't use filters or bots.

Write to us like a human, we look for passionate people who want to join a product-focused company long-term

Step 1: Intro call with the founders (30–45 min)

Step 2: Technical interview (60 min) + Review of a portfolio project / tech task / or pair programming session (up to 1h)

Final Step: Decision call with the founder and team lead (30–45 min)

Help us ship a calm, reliable connectivity app people actually love.

We keep ownership high and tie rewards to outcomes, strong results next year mean a real bonus for you.
